• It is used as a solvent mainly for resins and cellulose esters.
• It is used in coatings, printing inks, pigments, antifreeze, fuel additives, paint additives, de-greasing fluids, lacquer formulations, rubbing alcohols, window cleaners, and soaps.
• 1-propanol is used as a solvent in the manufacturing of pharmaceuticals, polishes, dental lotions, in making cosmetics, skin and hair preparations, and perfumes and, sometimes, as a disinfecting agent.
